The judges were really impressed with the way in which Office Depot had embedded the motto ‘Buy Green, Be Green, Sell Green’ into its every day business practices. Also the work that is done for their customers to reduce the environmental impacts of their purchases was felt to be incredibly valuable and innovative; namely the Enlighten website and environmental spend analysis reports.

Assisting customers to improve their footprint
"A key feature of Thales' ambitious programme to reduce our environmental impacts and achieve ISO14001 across the group has been the launch of two exciting initiatives with Office Depot and the Carbon Trust. Features of the Greening the Office programme included the development of an on-line green catalogue and switching of office products onto environmentally friendly alternatives. Office Depot's management reporting allowed us to monitor and encourage operating companies to purchase green stationery."
Bill Skeates, Corporate Environment Projects Manager, Thales Corporate Services
"Office Depot has been the preferred stationery supplier to The Natural History Museum for the past five years and both organisations understand that they have a key role to encourage responsible use of the natural world.
